Religious Education
& Lifelong Learning
Religion is that core of ultimate meanings, values, and convictions to which we commit our lives.
· Meanings are the “whys” of human behavior, the purposes that explain our behavior.
· Values are those guidelines by which we understand the world and act upon it.
· Convictions are the living out of those meanings and values in action. Conviction is more than belief, an intellectual construct; it is more than emotion, a psychological construct. It combines reason and feeling with the will to act.
Religious education is the life-span process of growing our meanings, values and convictions.
